Business Controller

Reports to: VP of Strategic Finance

We are committed to our future growth and building a global team. Today we're looking for a Business Controller to join us in our Oslo office. #LI-Hybrid

You will focus on driving financial excellence and strategic decision-making by analyzing key Ardoq metrics, supporting the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, and optimizing financial processes. As a trusted business partner to senior leadership, you will enhance financial performance, improve profitability, and align financial strategies with overall business objectives, supporting sustainable growth across the organization. 

On a typical day, you will:

• Develop budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Analyze operational expenses and identify opportunities to optimize costs
• Build financial models to predict business outcomes and evaluate new growth opportunities
• Analyze trends in revenue, expenses, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support decision-making
• Collaborate with department leaders to monitor financial performance and align strategies
• Streamline financial processes and optimize systems like ERP, CRM, and FP&A tools
• Monitor cash flow, forecast liquidity needs, and optimize working capital
• Assess financial risks (e.g., churn, credit risk) and implement mitigation strategies
• Create dashboards and reports to guide decision-making through financial and operational KPIs  focusing on actionable insights
• Conduct strategic financial analysis, such as pricing optimization and cost-benefit assessments.

We imagine you will bring:

• Experience as a Business Controller, or similar role
• Preferably 3+ years of experience from one of the Big 4 accounting firms
• Interest in IT and digital solutions
• Excellent Excel skills and preferably also PowerBI
• Experience in financial modeling, budget process, and forecasting
• Experience collaborating with leaders to implement and track initiatives
• Understanding of the business and cost drivers to provide insightful analysis
• Powerpoint and presentation skills to create and present financial reports, dashboards, KPIs
• Experience working with cross-functional projects
• Strong engagement, proactivity, and interest in finance and accounting
• Willingness to provide support and guidance to other departments as needed 
• An interest in ESG, with prior experience being advantageous
